Description: Priority vegetation and wetland assets to inform development of the Lower Namoi FMP floodplain management plan 2019. Native vegetation mapping was predominantly used to identify wetlands and other floodplain ecosystems. Approximately 112,300 ha (or 20% of the floodplain) was identified as native vegetation that is flood dependent. Floodplain water flows are crucial to maintain the structure, function and long-term survival of the flood-dependent communities that occur in the Lower Namoi Valley Floodplain.
